Deadline #4 was very interesting with the web page screen capture, graph jam, and learning about the CRAP principles. I really enjoyed this deadline as it allowed me to understand more about creating websites and what aspects to take into account when designing these things. It gave me a better understanding of what processes and features to look at as it now has me analyzing  every website that i enter and using the CRAP principles to see how they executed them.

Here is a screen capture of a website that i frequent for parts on my Infiniti G35 coupe. This is my good friends shop that is local to us here in Tempe that i have supported for the past 4 years.

With the layout of this webpage i have noticed:

Connection of the grouping of the various parts listed below the main picture of the orange G35. These images are identical in size and are grouped together. With these pictures being identical it illustrates a sense of duplication among these parts. As these images are bunched together, they create a sense of vertical flow as they are in 3 vertical rows flowing down as one customer may flow down along the site.

Now with analyzing this webpage we can fit it under the criteria of the CRAP principles

Contrast: the contrast is identifiable between the background page having a dark color with the text among the page being white to show for easy contrast and visibility of these sections to allow for the customer to search around the site without difficulty reading what is presented.

Repetition: The repetition is noticed under each of the parts images having the same font size being underlined to click on the links and showing the prices in green to make emphasis for it to be easily distinguishable to know what the price is which is something a customer like myself enjoys.

Alignment: The alignment for this webpage is set-up the parts centered moving down vertically, the different categories are listed on the top-left side flowing down vertically with the very top of the page listing different vehicles to search by that flow from left to right.

Proximity: In regards mentioned in the alignment section, these categories and images are all spaced evenly with them being split between each other by bold white lines surrounding each parts image and link.

This image is of a Bar graph aka Histogram.Unlike the generic bar graph which depicts the number of units sold and the representation of years the units were sold, this bar graph illustrates on the Verticle axis the percentage probabilities and the Horizontal axis indicates the events.

When analyzing the “guidelines for making bar graphs” it:

1. Depicts the data fairly, but does not quite give accurate numbers as it only gives percentiles

2. It does graph the information from a zero point as the bottom of the horizontal axis indicating the zero mark.

3. The graph is clear and illustrates the bar graphs in Red/pink giving off the Valentine’s day feel of what the chart is about.

4. All the information is indicated clearly. It is easy to understand as it clearly tells what each axis does and what each bar is about

5.With the alternating colors that are spaced between each bar it minimizes difficulty reading the graph making it logical and readable.

Something interesting about myself would be my ethnicity because everyone asks me what I am since no one can really figure it out.
